6. CITY BOUNTIFUL
The City of Bountiful is not located on the eastern side, it clearly states it was on the western side, yet again, most scholars interpret this incorrectly. The details are on the Land Southward page.
7. NARROW PASSAGE – NORTH TO SOUTH
The Book of Mormon says that the Narrow Passage ran north and south, not east and west; that it was located along the West Sea (Alma 50:34, 63:5-6, Mormon 2:29, Ether 10:20). The fact that the people sat and watched Hagoth build ships, then put them forth and sail in a course “northward,” with a visibility of 40+ miles it does not allow for any kind of an hour glass isthmus where he was sailing west. More details on the Narrow Passage page.
8. NARROW PASSAGE – NOT A DAY WIDE
When will people realize Mormon did not have either a map or a satellite view of Book of Mormon geography, his view was at eye level! If he said there was a “Narrow Passage” he was describing what looked narrow from eye level.
Ever been to a football game? Would you call the length of that football field narrow? Of course not. The Narrow Passage was less than a football field wide – not miles, and certainly not hundred or thousands wide.
9. RIVER SIDON
The River Sidon does not flow north to south. The “head” was located in the Southern Wilderness near Manti (Alma 22:27, Alma 43:22), and Manti was located south of Gideon (Alma 17:1), which was east of Zarahemla (Alma 6:7). Therefore, the head was located in a wilderness southeast of Zarahemla and flowed north into a Sea. More details are on the River Sidon page, including what “head” means, plus the width, depth, and banks of the river.
10. TWO RIVERS
The Book of Mormon describes one river with two branches.
