The prophecies make it clear that the land would change by the earthquake(s) that would occur at the death and coming of Jesus to America, all of which are splendidly accounted for in the True Geography of the Western New York Model. It’s important to understand their lands were changed forever.
Most of the events in the Book of Mormon occurred before the land was changed (1 & 2 Nephi, Jacob, Enos, Jarom, Omni, Words of Mormon, Mosiah, Alma, Helaman, 3 Nephi 1-7) thus, the geography for those stories is different today than it was back then.
